Star Wars Room

The boys' room was pretty easy to figure out.  Once we decided to go with Star Wars them, good ol' Pinterest came to the rescue again!  Our goal was to recreate some of the things we liked, without spending tons of money.  Remember, we're redoing two rooms at once and we're on our new Dave Ramsey budget!

It's difficult to tell in the pictures, but there are stars painted in the navy blue trim around the top.  Bye bye polka dots!
I'm basically standing in the closet looking over to Sam's side of the room.

Here is the view from the doorway.

This is the bookshelf you see over by the foot of Sam's bed.  It was originally blue, red, and green but the green stood out like a sore thumb.  We really didn't want to paint this (and we were running out of time), so I just covered the ends in fabric that looks like outer space.

Above the bookshelf is this picture of Jack fighting Darth Vader from when he did the Jedi Training at Disney World.

One of my favorite parts of the room.  We found the artwork online and since we were too cheap to pay what the seller was asking, Marshall just recreated the images in a Word document and then we had them printed at a local print shop.

He also made the lightsaber holder for free, since we already had all of those parts on hand (wood, pvc pipe, screws, and black spray paint).

I downloaded this free printable verse and loved how it fit right in to our Star Wars room.

Not a great picture because of the glare.  Another free font - I love free!  Too bad the print shop charged a pretty penny for these prints because the graphics department had to work on them to get the size I wanted.  I matted them by painting poster board with leftover paint from the walls, since they are too large to use a conventional mat.  Perfect match!  Oh, and we already had all of these picture frames, just had to spray paint white.

Jack's new desk area.  This still needs to work, but we will save that for a future project.  Grammy made the curtains and they look great!  You can't see the pattern in this picture, but it has a really cool robot feel to it.

Oh, and another terrible picture, but check out the light saber lamp Marshall made.  He's so crafty - even without Pinterest!  That one was totally his idea.

The boys really love their new Star Wars room.  It was a lot of fun for us to work on and create.  Jack told me that every time he looked around, he noticed something new.  I think that means our budget redo was a success!
