Big Haircut

Tonight was a big night for Anna. We had a special date night for just the two of us, and part of it included getting her hair cut. We've been talking about it for awhile and she's been pretty excited about it. We decided if she was going to get a lot cut off at once, it might as well go to a good cause. She had about 9 inches cut off and she's donating it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths project, which uses the donated hair to make wigs for women with cancer.

I snapped a few "last" pictures before we headed out the door.

We put it into four ponytails and then started cutting.

After the big haircut, Anna chose our dining location. Nothing says date night like Taco Bell!

We shopped for a while and then checked out the new frozen yogurt place for dessert. Anna chose strawberry yogurt with the following toppings: strawberries, white chocolate chips, M&Ms, skittles, Trix, Lucky Charms, gummy bears, and sour gummy worms. She claimed it was good but I declined her offer to let me taste and decided to take her word for it!

She LOVES her new hair cut and couldn't stop flipping her head around all night long. It was a fun and special date night with my girl!

Jack is our inquisitive firstborn. At seven years old, he likes to know how things work and will ask a ton of questions until he gets a satisfactory answer. He's our numbers guy and can remember the score of any game, no mater how long ago it was! He's an active kid who enjoys playing soccer and swimming. However, give him a video game and he would sit and play all day if we let him. Lover of anything Star Wars these days, he's definitely all boy. He has a soft spot for his baby sister and loves to make her laugh and keep her happy. He is a great helper and loving big brother and his deep dimples melt our hearts every time he smiles.

Anna is our spunky five year old. She loves digging in the dirt and sand, all while wearing her fanciest tutu! She is Miss Independent most of the time, and certainly has her own sense of style these days. Anna is our resident artist and asks if we can paint at least five times a day - every day! She loves being a helper around the house, and when she's in the mood, she's the best cleaner upper in the family. She enjoys reading books, singing, dancing, coloring, and playing dress up with her brothers. She's growing into a sassy little thing and loves bossing her brothers around, but still has a compassionate heart and enjoys serving others. She's growing up, but will always be our baby girl!

Sam is our stubborn number three - our 4 year old baby buddy. He's a stinker who manages get into EVERYTHING! It's hard to resist that wide smile and mischievous giggle, though, even when he's up to no good. He is certainly the most persistent child I have ever known! He adores his older siblings and plays with whatever they want to play with at any given time. He can fly super heroes through the air and dress up as princesses with the best of them! He loves Star Wars like his brother, but will always have a soft spot for his first love, Buzz Lightyear. Some days he's still our snugly little boy, and that's quite alright with us because that boy with the mischievous grin has brought an enormous amount of joy to our family!

Our little (big) Lucy is such a joy! She is our go-with-the-flow girl most of the time, but definitely has a feisty spirit about her! She has no trouble showing her siblings who's really the boss and can hold her own in any "disagreement" with them. She loves to dance and usually starts breaking it down as soon as she hears any music. She adores her baby dolls and loves to give them kisses. She also likes cooking in the kitchen, reading books, and talking on the phone (the phone can be anything from a wooden block to a piece of plastic food). She's been the perfect addition to our family and we just adore her spunky personality, her strawberry blonde curls, and her sloppy kisses.
